Surfs off

You can see how tiddly the conditions were this morning but despite this, the Newcastle Cup (World Surf comp) began.  It was actually all happening behind me here but the area is roped off for ticket holders.   If you had a good pair of binoculars you would be right to see it from where I am standing at Dixon Park and you can certainly hear the sirens and so on.

This was taken early in the morning just after the hounds had a walk at the park.   It really was a lovely day.
