Butterbur

Petasites hybridus. Sometimes known as Giant Rhubarb.
Another plant where the flowers appear before the leaves. As the leaves grow fast and become very large this is understandable. They soon hide the flowers which is not good for pollination.

The leaves fold without cracking and in earlier times were used for wrapping butter. Hence its common name.
