I decided to upgrade my Mac’s operating system to Catalina and, two days later it is still grinding its way slowly through my photos.

It claims to be:

Detecting duplicates
Composing layout
Curating best photos
Analysing scenes
Gathering favourites

None of which I asked it to do and several that I don’t think it’s capable of.
