OUR JANE

...the name of the rose bush we bought for this lovely lady. Today was her 60th birthday (her second in strict lockdown!) we had been planning a surprise long weekend away with 40 of us and as 2020 went on we realised it wouldn’t be possible so have moved it to next year! But then how to celebrate this year.....we made her a video to the music from the Sound of Music (I put a photo on a few days back)...friends decorated her house and...
A 5 mile walking route was planned with friends in 2s at various stops to hand over the birthday girl for the next leg...birthday sash and tiara, balloons in woods to follow, clues along the way, cafe stop and her husband following behind with a drinks trolley (well a rucksack full of booze!) Lots of people gave her birthday wishes along the way and it ended with a pavement concert....a friend moved his piano into the front doorway and played a few of her favourite things and many more and we sang in a small group all sensibly spaced. She was over the moon with the effort everyone had gone and she still had her bubble family meal to enjoy.
We’ve all had a great day and our spirits lifted I’m glad I’ll left this afternoon’s exams to someone else.
