School run rain

My school and N’s school have broken up for a Easter today. I have two weeks and he has three weeks off. It’s been the strangest term which has felt like much longer. L has a few more days before she finishes for two and a half weeks.

I usually don’t get home in time for the school run on a Friday - my parents do it. But today I was able to... why does it wait until school pick up time to rain torrentially? I’ve often observed this as a teacher over the years but now I am the parent waiting in the rain!
