FLOWER FRIDAY

I have been watching and waiting for this orchid to bloom and am pleased that it has chosen to do so in time for Flower Friday;  this shot is SOOC and I have just added a frame.  

The black velvet trousers were brought out again to be used as a backdrop and I am so thrilled with the vibrant colour of this beautiful phalaenopsis orchid, the graceful curves of the petals and the intricacy of every part - they are a joy to behold.

Once again, orchid flowers are much like buses, metaphorically speaking, you understand - you wait and wait and then lots of them come at once, but I can cope with that, just as I have coped with having two bracelets this week.  There are at least seventeen more buds to come out and the flowers usually last for quite sometime so I may even blip another one.

Not much to report today - the weather is awful;  it’s very cold and windy and we have had a couple of very heavy rainstorms, so I don’t think I will be going out walking today.  Of course, I could do some housework, but I don’t really feel like it, so think I will probably just sit and do some knitting instead and may even watch something on Netflix.  

Mr. HCB has just told me that the temperatures are set to soar next week, so hopefully, we will be able to get out into the garden although he will won’t be able to do very much.  Today, according to his weather app, it is 8°C but it is due to be 21°C on Tuesday and then back down to 9°C by the end of the week, which is, of course, Good Friday, the day we are due to have our second vaccination.  Just to cheer up those who live in the north of England and Scotland, Mr. HCB says the weathermen are predicting snow for Easter.  

Looking forward to meeting our son and his wife in the garden next Monday, when the lockdown rules change - just hope it’s not too cold out there.  Obviously we will still need to be physically distanced, but it will be good to see them again.
