At the Secret Lake

Those who follow the saga of the great crested grebes will be pleased to know the pair are still there, but still in search of a nesting spot. In extras the  coot has already carpetbagger this site, the same place where it dispossessed the grebes last year. But there is another promising nesting place which Mrs Grebe sat on, and then vacated for no good reason. I have to say despite their fearsome beaks, they are most unasserive birds that give the impression of lacking in confidence.
