A Bearded Vulture....

..... as we reached our high point above Bovonne today. It was quite an extraordinary day, almost the whole way up we had the sun halo effect (extra), but to see this vulture so close, searching the avalanche debris for dead chamois as they are the dustbin men, eating the bones that are left behind after the eagles and foxes have eaten their fill! Frontal view in second extra, I was debating whether this one should be the main or not.

Am I imaging it or are photos losing their sharpness on the site at the moment? With a black background on my iPad everything looks better, unless my eyes are failing me...
