RIP Hubert bun

Our beautiful boy Hubert left us today. We made the decision over the weekend when we noticed his tumour seemed to be starting to break down. Luckily he hasn’t been in pain, he’s done so well, Lewis and I honestly hadn’t expected him to get this far, his lymphoma was just so aggressive. We’ve had a wonderful weekend with him, he was spoiled with all of his favourite treats and some treats that are not normally on a bunnies approved list of foods. I am not sure what we will do without him, I don’t think it will be the same here without him. Hubert was our gentle wee soul, he was just so sweet and affectionate. He was so good with the other bunnies too, after Kiki passed away i was so pleased when he developed good relationships with the other bunnies. He loved Q and looked after her when she was poorly with her ear infection. He was always sitting with Lafawnda, she couldn’t get about much and he snuggled with her and kept her company. I know they will miss him, he was a good friend to them. We brought him home so that the other buns have a chance to say goodbye, they deserved to know what happened to him. I do suspect they knew something wasn’t right, Q was drawn to licking his tumour and last night as she was doing that, Arfur was grooming his other side. It was sweet to see, they all looked after each other so well. Eight and a half doesn’t seem old enough, and without the lymphoma he would have gone on longer, but we were so lucky to have had him in our lives as long as we did.
