A Trial

Trying out a shot with the camera on my new phone, a Google Pixel 4a. I wasn't expecting much. I didn't set out to choose a phone with a good set of cameras, why would I with all the value of gear I have?

I went outdoors to get good light so that I could hand-hold each of the devices to give the phone a fair chance, I was just trying to get the phone positioned when a bee appeared. Snap, that had to hopefully be focussed correctly. 

I have come away surprised at what the 12.2mp rear camera has achieved.

In the Extras I've put my carefully composed, with chosen settings Canon 5D Mk3 + 105mm Sigma Macro f2.8 shot, alongside the phone shot.

I might consider whisking the phone out now and again!
