Reclaim

I’ve seen a few locations in Cambridge where there are tributes to Sarah Everard and the #reclaimthesestreets movement. I realise I need to do a lot more thinking and reading about sexism and risk to understand the fears and concerns of women.

The curtailing of some of the rules around protesting is not the hallmark of a democratic society. I’m sure there’s a correlation between how draconian a country’s laws are around gatherings, and how suppressed are civil liberties. It’s depressing to see what’s being passed by the government. I feel this country, like various others, is overall on a lurch towards the right. And right does not mean good in this case.
