Lockdown.   This gate appears to have had several “lockdowns” with the dilapidated padlock, string, wire and patched up panel. Like many other countries we have had three lockdowns in the last year.  Following yesterday’s announcement by Scotland’s First Minister, many of the Covid restrictions will hopefully be lifted in six weeks time and we will be able to travel beyond our own local authority area and move freely around Scotland and perhaps even visit England.  Then by May 17th it might be possible to meet with two others inside the house and go to a restaurant but all this depends on the Covid numbers.  A year ago when the first lockdown was announced nobody could have imagined how devastating things would become to many through loss of health, education, the economy and relationships. We live in hope that life will return before too long to a new “normality”.
