Working hard

It was an excellent day to work in the garden. Against the wall there were some shrubs that we wanted to get rid of for several years. This time I made time. I asked our youngest son L. to help.

Along the way some snails came up. It was fascinating to see them crawl out of their houses, pop up their eyes on stems, and walk slowly along the arm-rest of our garden bench. Several times we stopped working just to watch.

It was hard work to pull all the roots out of the ground because in all those years they had grown very deep. Also their was an old tree stump to dig out.

The garden is almost in order now. Only tre grass needs to be verticuted (if you know what I mean).
