Diary of an Edinburgher

Spot the ball*

Archie had a lovely surprise today when Elizabeth came for a bonus walk! They met up with his pal Woody. (Extras)

After JR had done her exercises and made bread, we set off on a jaunt to Porty Beach for a change. It wasn’t cold, mainly because there was no wind, and the place was very busy for a Monday morning.

We had a coffee and walked along the prom and back along the beach. (We both thought that) it’s not so much fun without Archie...

The tide was right in, and there were several women in swimming! All wore woolly hats. And their hands and feet were ‘rubberised’. I had a chat with some of them in their big warm coats after their dip. They do it most days.

On the way back, the chaps who had been setting up their volleyball net were playing. Such energy! I could have watched them all afternoon, but JR got a bit bored.

Back home for a cuppa and some very yummy home made (no-knead) bread.

* A popular competition where the ball is removed from the (football) photo.
