Rush job

I realised I’d doubled booked my single room, one on Airbnb and one off. Both lovely people who’ve been before and who work shifts at the hospital, so I really didn’t want to let them down. I asked they would cancel or rearrange, but it was too late to change shifts so I offered my own room. Trouble was it had a floordrobe and looked like a bomb had made a direct hit. Chris the ex-squaddy agreed to take my room, arriving at 3pm before I was home, so he waited in the office until I could get there. Then I spent 45 minutes clearing and cleaning my room ready for him. He was delighted.
I slept in the office, which was fun, cosy and quiet. Chris said he’d have happily slept in there, but I wanted to be the first!!
