Stone Angel

We parked the car and walked along an extremely muddy track to Birkheads Secret Garden - one of our favourite places to go.  It is currently open on weekends to view the lovely garden and there is takeaway tea and coffee and snacks to purchase.  There were lots of snowdrops and other spring flowers out.

The garden is owned and run by Christine and Mike and it is obviously a labour of love for them.  They started creating the garden in 1987 on a site that had been surfaced mined (opencast) for coal.  We have an annual pass and enjoy visiting it every few weeks.
