industrial heartlands

Growing up and living in a heavy industrial area has many pros and cons. The cons are well documented but in these lands men and women of steel were and continue to be born.
As a keen photographer and blipper, I have the opportunity to capture much of this obscene beauty through the lens and share with you all. The shipyards. the coke ovens, the blast furnace, the sinter plant, the BOS plant, concast, the mills, the ports, the ships.......etc etc etc. Ugly, dirty and undesired by many but it is here that much of the world has been built - one example, Sydney Harbour bridge is as many will agree iconic and a thing of beauty. It was built here at the main building you see in this photograph. In fact much of the steel in the world to construct many of what we appreciate and love as symbolic in the world was built here - my home.
Please enjoy my blip.
