Fell Ponies

Below Blencathra on Caldbeck Common. Quite large numbers of these ponies live here higher up in the better weather and in winter they tend to hang out near Mosedale and Caldbeck. They can pack quite a punch. I have a friend who I was cycling with stopped to feed them some treats (horse nuts or something) when he was surrouned by them a real kicking match started between a couple of them. We beat a hasty retreat.
