A Very Apt Arrival

I received my new Sugar & Sloth box today and it contained my first 'After Dark' sweary add-on pin, and I love it! There's a close up of the sweary item in my extras. The theme of the box was very apt, Unicorn Book Club, as I'm still sticking to the BCHC Charity Bookworm Challenge! I completed my 3rd book for that today; Jacqueline Wilson's 'Love Frankie'. It was lovely to read Wilson again as she was my favourite author when I was a kid/teen, and I would've loved this book to have existed when I was younger. It tickles me though how she still has her characters speak as though they're from the 40's, I've never heard kids talk the way she writes them. I gave it 4 of 5 stars on Goodreads as there were a couple of completely unnecessary anti-fat sentiments. One was coming from a teen directed at her step mom who she doesn't get along with so was vaguely understandable, but the others were just either mean or unnecessary. Bit weird.

Had a lovely/bizarre video call with Lexi for her 6th birthday this evening. We were treated to such lovely sights as right up her nose, the ceiling, an extreme close up of her cake. Can't wait to give her a stupid big hug again soon.
