Distance

Arranging a birthday during corona time secretly gave me a lot of fun. The invitations were the first digital way to the boy, the girl and Bert. We went to have pizza delivery at home and play an online escape room. All devices had to be fully charged and a pen and paper had to be ready. I had thought it all through. Not everyone could be there tomorrow, so we had to today, but hey, a party is a party.

At exactly 7 o'clock the doorbell rang at both addresses. The wine, pizzas and Tiramisu (and ice cream for the youth) were delivered. Awesome! I like all the great possibilities that the internet has.

It was a very happy evening at a distance. We chatted, drank and ate. In less than two hours, we digitally rescued ourselves from the Fort of Kijkduin, while puzzling, and it was actually a shame that it was over again.

Tomorrow is the real birthday, but the only one free will be Bert.
