Get out your lazy bed

I woke with sunlight streaming in the windows. Jen had just thrown back the curtains, and was bustling round the room.

"C'mon, sleepyhead," she was saying. "Time to get up - you've got work this morning, and time's moving on."

I groaned, I'd woken up thinking it was Saturday. Bollocks - I hate it when that happens.

"Yeah, right, moan all you like," she laughed. After last night, you're definitely fit for work."

I laughed too, and just for those few minutes after waking, life seemed good: normal, straightforward, something you could get your head round.

When reality rushed back in, it was a lot worse than realising it wasn't Saturday.
