White Heather Club

(for those of a certain age) We had a kipper baguette for brunch this morning. My, was it good. Porridge before and coffee and fruit rounded off the menu.

A pleasant walk in the sunshine across the now dry fields around Caring Lane followed. As we set off we passed a couple of bees foraging in the heather. Susan tells me it’s a queen bee that’s hibernated over winter carrying fertilised eggs ready to start this year’s colony. I was going to post a ramshackle derelict old building; this is more miraculous.

Doreen is down with us now for her dinner. They’ve just spent an hour speaking to a relative over Skype. That’s two nonagenarians on a video call supervised by Susan. Lots of Eh? What did you say? I can’t hear very well...
