The Great Escape
When I went down to sort chickens out this afternoon the noisy level was different to usual. One voice was louder than the rest. Not surprising as one of the inmates of HenTent had escaped!!!
She was quickly rounded up and returned but I was unable to find how she got out. No tunnels, no vaulting horses lying around, no hand made gliders or motorbikes a la Steve McQueen. It will have to remain a chicken mystery, like which came first and why did it cross the road.
We braved Swaffham outdoor market today, first time in over 12 months. It was far smaller and quieter than it used to be but we were both extremely uncomfortable being there and left very quickly. When all this stupidity is over I think it will be a long time before we will be happy being in close contact with strangers.
After this failure we treated ourselves to a visit to West Acre Gardens. Always tranquil and today almost empty which is good because it allowed us time to browse and buy more plants for the new beds. Amongst the purchases were half a dozen pots of snowdrops that have passed their best. There must be 10 to 12 bulbs in each pot and they were £1 each. Compare this to the price of snowdrops elsewhere and I think I have a bargain. Maybe watch this space next year . We also bought a couple of new Hellebores, part of one features in todays blip
