Along the River

The River Plym begins it's journey on Dartmoor and flows briskly through a series of steep, wooded valleys towards the sea. Yesterday, I saw daffodils and wood anemones beside the river, further downstream. Higher up the river today, it felt less Spring-like. There were mallards and mandarin ducks on the river and I saw a female goosander. The male mandarin ducks are brightly coloured and very exotic-looking. They are now quite a common site on the quieter and more remote sections of the river.
