Preston on Stour
Continuing our grand tour of local villages we decided today to drive to Preston on Stour, originally of Gloucestershire, but now in Warwickshire. We crossed the river on our way into the village, and on our walk around returned to have a look at it and take a pic or two, this waterfall being one of them. The village is in a conservation area and has no new building around it, as so many villages have these days. The 'new' part of the village was established by James Roberts West of the nearby Alscot Park as a model village in the 1850s and has remained more or less unchanged since then. The first extra is a picture of our new car the old school which is the hub of the village, being a shop, cafe, post office and yoga centre (but not a school anymore). The second extra is one of the more older houses, it is the house that is not straight, not the photo! Overlooking the village is the church of St Mary The Virgin.
