WHITE HERON (Kotuku) egretta Alba

Yesterday it was the " Prancing Kotuku today its the " flying squaker Kotuku"
its the same chap in a similar spot - which he seems to have claimed for himself.
I was very interested in the way which the bird retracts its long neck in flight. (The neck when extended beking longer than the body). Looking at the neck in flight it folds neatly back into the body - it has two very distinct joints - giving it an advantage of less windage, creating superior flight. I'm sure the Wright Bro's would have learnt heaps from these natural things.
