Social distancing?
Another glorious day, so mid-morning we popped up to Tralee Bay and had a lovely walk along the beach. It's a huge beach, though almost entirely stony, with a raised ridge dropping down to wetland behind, rather like the terrain at Dunkirk. It wasn't exactly busy when we arrived, though a few dog-walkers did turn up later. Across the bay stands Lochnell Castle, with St Margaret's Tower on the skyline - I must walk up to the Tower sometime.
After lunch I decided to have an afternoon in the garden, cleaning up all the potted plants and relabelling where necessary. Unfortunately a neighbour just along the road had a contractor in chopping off bits of their trees - hardly a tree without its top hacked off. After the hacking the contractor brought his chipper along and apart from the noise I could almost feel the ground vibrating, so I came indoors. What is it with people and trees! If it's too big then take it right down and plant something smaller - don't lop the top off!
Quote of the Day:
Chinese proverb - "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”
