Churchtown

The seaside resort of Southport was established in 1790 by an innkeeper named William Sutton, who built a bathing house near the beach close to the village of North Meols. The above picture is of what was the main part of the village which dates a great deal further back, this and the other small villages have been incorporated into the town itself.
I had a ride round this morning in the sun, it was just about the only time I have seen the main street with very few cars parked there.
I have added a view of the pier with some wet sand for company.
