Song sparrow
Saturday
A beautiful day today - sunshine, blue skies and reaching a high of 60F (16C)! In the afternoon, we took our new car for a drive to Miami Whitewater Forest, a Hamilton County Park on the NW side of town, and we went for a 6 mile walk along the Shaker Trace trail, a paved multi-purpose trail. There were quite a lot of people out enjoying the warm sunny weather, though you leave quite a number behind when you strike out on the outer loop from the inner loop. There were quite a lot of people on bikes, which made us long to get back on our bikes, but our bike rack is mounted on a tow hitch, and we have to wait a few weeks before the dealer gets the parts. We stopped at the wetland area hoping to see some waterfowl, but whilst there were plenty of birds they were all Canada geese, so instead I have blipped this attractive little Song sparrow. We also saw a hawk up in a tree, and I took a few shots, but there were too many twigs in the way, so they didn’t come out as well as I’d have liked.
