The Sink

Dad called the garden centre The Sink, the place where you throw your money away for uncertain reward.  I bought gold lace primulas in his honour remembering when he grew them from seed bought from Thompson and Morgan, a seed catalogue of great delight that first gave us yellow courgettes and purple beans.   Now the gold lace sell well in garden centres but then they were a rediscovered Victorian novelty.
