We drove through a busy Rothbury and were in a deserted Morpeth at 9.45 for my appointment to pick up the reading glasses. Oh how wonderful it is to be able to read without a struggle.

The copy of the letter the optician sent to my GP arrived recommending and urgent referral so hopefully things will get into motion on that front.

#3 daughter and family arrived for an afternoon walk. It was a gorgeous day and she thought it would be safer for us to meet before they are back to school on 9 March. We went to Blue Mill and did a round from there. Nathaniel found a dead frog he carried around draped on a stick. He wanted to take it home but was persuaded to give it a funeral in the wood. He built a cairn and said a few words - he’d always remember it and would bring his children to see its final resting place. It was great to see them and it felt almost normal.

I spent last night making shells all round the edge of my crochet throw. 5” from the end I ran out of wool. A good excuse to put in a new order for the next effort!

It’s been great day, especially seeing the family - in fact being able to see - that in itself is wonderful. And it was sunny and warm and light till 6pm. (#2 daughter sent pictures of the boys in the sea!)
