Loch Katrine

A good tarmac road runs all the way from Stronachlacher to Trossachs Pier and it is popular with cyclists and walkers. The road passes through some fine scenery and although less "pretty" than the southern end of the loch the area as far as Glengyle House is impressive country nevertheless. There are fine views in all directions and this shot is looking south with Ben Venue the hill on the right.A detour also allows you to see the small burial ground of the clan McGregor - of Rob Roy fame-- which contains an intersting collection of gravestones and Celtic crosses.
The day started off as has been the case all week with bright blue skies but cloud built up significanly later.
