Early

Another fabulous day. Stayed closer to home so we could have brunch altogether, did a little weeding, then set off for the first ascent of our Hausberg (house or local hill) - Chestenberg. There’s just no direct route, it zig zags up through the forest, then suddenly you’re on a fabulous limestone ridge with views south to the Alps and North to the Rhine valley and Germany. I couldn’t believe seeing this live butterfly, seems very early.
11km, 300m ascent and 3 hours on the way.
