GEARING UP
Having problems with the bike gears so trying to clean everything in sight . . . including this device to clean the chain . . . Take These Chains From My Heart . . . singalong now.
A little bit . . . hehe . . . extra for today . . . On this day, 21st February 1967, Charlie, the last shunting-horse to work on British Rail was retired. Fittingly, he worked at Newmarket. This was the last British Railways depot to withdraw horses for shunting. They were retained there to move special vehicles used for transporting racehorses, being both cheaper and more flexible that steam locomotives. By 1913, there were 27,826 shunting horses deployed in the UK. I bet they earned their oats !
Hope you all have a grand and safe week ahead !
