Bighorn Sheep

It's just the boys who
appear during the winter 
months. They've been hiding!

I was just asking my painting pal this morning if she'd seen the bighorn sheep this winter. Normally, the males come off the hillsides to graze in the valley bottom in winter. She said she'd seen them up on the hills, not close. 

As luck would have it, the males were in evidence this afternoon along the Canadian National Railway line, close to Tranquille. I was on my way home and there they were! I parked beside the roadway and they were just across the fence! You can see by their colouring how well they can disappear into the landscape.
