Tollcross & Fountainbridge History

I've had my nose in this book since it arrived yesterday.  In 1986 the Tollcross Local History Project was set up to look at how the area had changed over the centuries.  This is the resulting book.   As someone who lives in the area it's fascinating.  I was excited to see a photo of the pend / passageway to the now demolished St David's Church which was at the top of Gardner's Crescent at the Fountainbridge end.  There was no through road from Gardner's Crescent to Fountainbridge until 1922.
