In Deep
It was a very wet and muddy walk with Bella May this morning. We had to wade through deep puddles to get anywhere. It was good to get out in the fresh air though and we met a few people to chat to, as we always do and a couple of them had Bella's doggy pals with them.
When we got back we all went in the shower.
NO...not together!
I took Bella in then Frank dried her while I had a shower then it was Frank's turn. Now we are all very sweet smelling! :-)
Then we decided to drive to Skipton to get fresh veg from the market and a few things from Morrison's.
That's where the trouble began!
We had a full trolley at the checkout and Frank's card was declined - what an embarrassment. The lady said we could leave the trolley parked up while we dashed to the bank.
Frank had used the card yesterday to pay a large deposit to a local plumber/heating engineer company who will be putting in a new boiler and radiators. He'd had to do that in two seperate transaction over two days as the bank wouldn't allow such a big amount in one go.
Anyway, at the bank, the lady looked at Frank's account and said those transactions hadn't gone through either because Visa had put it down as fraudulent activity. Frank was raging!
In the end they allowed him to take out enough cash to pay for the shopping but told him he would have to phone the fraud dept and they would unblock it.
Off back to Morrison's to pay for the shopping then home.
Frank phoned the number she had given him and the Visa guy also said that the transactions to the plumber had been declined and he would need to pay them again.
He phoned the plumbers to tell them what had happened and the lady said 'Oh no it's fine, it's all gone through and has been paid.'
We just looked at each other in disbelief :-0 It was so frustrating. Bloomin' banks!
By this time Frank was quite stressed out so we had a cuppa and I sent him upstairs to play piano. All is well now. :-)
Last night when I went to bed I still felt excited about my family findings - I kept thinking about that photo of my mum with her school friends. And many of those people who had commented, had grandparents who would have known my mum, laughed and played with her.
Thank heavens for the internet and social media.
Nothing else done today except vacuum everywhere and mop the kitchen floor and a couple of loads of washing.
Now I have to draw my Febcreate prompt - Sleekit (smooth/silky or sly/sneeky).
Extra is yesterday's - Mockit (mucky)
Have a good weekend Blippers.
Thanks for all the comments, stars and hearts :-)X
