A small purple patch

In the college grounds there are great clumps of golden crocus, and a few drifts of white crocus, and just a few lilac and purple crocus. A little breeze made it tricky getting a decent focus on the white crocus.

I like the contrast of the orange stamen (casts mind back to o-grade biology...) and the lilac veining on the petals.

Just matches the spring feeling in the air!
