Desperate Kes
Ollie dog and I walked at Lodge Farm after lunch. It's always windy there but today it was particularly biting and strong. This kestrel, which I have seen many times before, did well to maintain its hovering position. It usually flies away before I get close enough for a reasonable shot but stayed put for longer today. I'm guessing it was desperate for a kill because of the icy conditions.
As for the Lakeside soap opera on Valentine's Day, pure-bred drake took off with the duck. Odd bird, the hybrid drake, flew around on his own for a while. I've got a feeling he won't give up his campaign to win the duck's affections. (Extras)
