Excited anticipation but romantic disappointment

Another miserable day weather- wise, so only the briefest  of walks and nothing worth photographing outdoors.
I took the last of my hyacinths out of the cold, dark, garage roof, as they  seem anxious to flower. These are called Purple Sensation and I like that the tips of  the leaves are purple. I anticipate that  the flowers will be too.

The extra shows a pair of wood pigeons which, most mornings, sit on our pergola, all loved up, billing and  cooing,as only doves and pigeons can. Today, however, despite it being St Valentine's Day, (birds' wedding day and other such nonsense) they seemed to have had a "bit of a tiff", or perhaps they are merely fed up with the cold windy wet weather too.
