Sunset after a sunny day
This morning when I opened the curtains just after 7am there was the most glorious sunrise, the colours in the sky were incredible, so pink with interesting cloud shapes. I cannot actually see the sunrise from our house but I can see the pink glow in the sky. I ran downstairs to get my camera and by the time I got back to the window it was already fading so that was disappointing.
This morning I met a friend for a socially distanced walk on the common. I think it was the coldest day I have experienced this winter, the wind was positively arctic and very strong. Xena and her dog, a GSP pointer had such fun playing together as they are similar breeds and tend to play and run the same way. At one point Xena's long ears were blowing so far backwards and the wind was channelling directly into her ear, I would not be surprised if the poor dog gets earache!
When I got home I really needed that hot coffee to warm up, and then I went out again to go grocery shopping. There was a short queue but even standing outside for a few minutes was icy.
It was beautifully sunny and bright all day, so later I popped back down to the village where I took this shot of the sunset over the river. It is one of the few places I can get a photo of a sunset around here, and I can stand on the bridge and get a clear view of it.
Tonight Tommy is making a salmon pasta dish for supper, and tomorrow we have a special food order for Valentine's Day. The latest trend around here is catering companies are now taking orders for a set menu they offer (they offer a variety of menus) and there have been many choices of Valentine's dinners from a few of them.
