Yellow And Green Can Be Seen
Today's image was taken looking through the top of our garden table. The snow had slightly thawed today and you can see the grass beginning to emerge again. The yellow parts of the image are actually the remains of two corns on the cob and a mango. My sister was under the impression that this would be suitable winter food for any visiting birds to our garden but they steadfastly refused to go anywhere near it - maybe they just don't like yellow food!
As it was still absolutely freezing I decided to make a massive pan of one of my favourite soups - Spicy Ethiopian lentil and spinach soup. It includes garlic, ginger, red chilli, berbere spice blend, split red lentils, tomatoes, potatoes and spinach leaves which you then serve with Greek yoghurt and a squeeze of lemon. It has a bit of kick and certainly warms you up on a cold winter's day.
