LD 325 It takes time but...

This morning the Heads of Agreement for the Argyll & Bute Rural Growth Deal - a plan which will bring over £50 million of investment to the area from the Scottish & UK Governments - was signed on line by both governments and the Council.

Five years ago yesterday I blipped the start of that process - a conference call between the then Council Leader and CEO and the then Scottish Finance Minister , which I had brokered to discuss the difficulties that the Council was experiencing  and particularly the need for investment that would put it and the area on a firmer long term footing.

The photos in the collage show that first moment and today's event and whilst it does all take time  good things do happen with perseverance even as personnel changes, something of which I am also acutely aware as the current Parliament comes to an effective end six weeks today.  .
