Land Meets Sea
The Governor Thomas Johnson Memorial Bridge (also referred to as the Thomas Johnson Bridge and the Solomons Bridge) is a 1.37-mile (2.20 km) bridge in Maryland over the lower Patuxent River joining Calvert and St. Mary's counties. The bridge, named for the first governor of Maryland, Thomas Johnson, saw construction start in 1972 and opened to traffic on December 17, 1977.
Prior to the bridge opening, folks had to use a “ferry boat” to cross. Our counties have so much to offer each other that everyone was delighted when we were able to visit freely. I am definitely dating myself.
We had a bit of sun in the early morning but it has been cloudy much of the day and it is snowing - again. We could get an inch of snow and ice tonight with more snow predicted tomorrow and Friday. After getting my blip, we had breakfast and caught up on some chores including laundry and baking pumpkin cheesecake muffins for breakfasts. At first, I thought the shoulder muscle had finally healed but the heating pad is back on at full strength. This issue is negatively affecting my daily at home physical therapy. Stay warm folks and thanks for the visits and stars.
