M is for middle child madness
I was suppose to visit my step mum this morning as she had an emergency hysterectomy a couple of weeks back and is getting fed up stuck in doors. She's had to go back into hospital though with an infection so she's back to dodgy food and hospital radio. I'd be going out of my mind.
I spent my free morning replying to emails and the kids party invites, filling out the various letters and forms from school and writing cheques for bills. The time absolutely flew by but feel good knowing I've got these things done.
Today's blip is a picture E did for our American friends who sent over the Toy Story dolls. One of my favourite things about E is that when she doesn't know how to express herself she draws a picture. :)
M went to the Roald Dahl museum today. She really liked it there. Apparently they have a tunnel from Fantastic Mr Fox, a glass elevator, the trumpet that blows dreams from the BFG. M tells me the Roald Dahl use to be a 'pirate' in the RAF during WW2. Very funny!
After school I collected the girls to go and see Daddy in the coffee shop for a hot chocolate and cookie. We stopped off to see my aunty on the way. My aunt has her own lovely flower shop called 'back to the fuchsia ' set in a old town. It doesn't have a lot of footfall but she works blooming (geddit?) hard and is good at what she does. The girls were allowed to play with her till but there was an incident with M and a £1 where I am convinced, in fact I know, she was trying to take it home covertly. I'm so disappointed in her I totally don't know how to handle it. I told her she'd let herself down and I expected more from her and said she wasn't having the treat at the coffee shop afterwards. I wish I'd not mentioned the last part as that caused tears and distracted from what I wanted her to learn. I'd have never done something that dishonest at that age. I've also explained about trust, why we have to work for the things we need and the price of theft. I don't think she feels bad at all which makes me feel ashamed.
Despite all this, the other 2 enjoyed their treat in the coffee shop and we made it home just in time for me to get to my gym session. Phew
