Cold winter walk
Sunday
It was a very cold, but beautiful day, with gorgeous blue skies and sunshine. We enjoyed our streamed church service, then around noon drove out to Miami Whitewater Forest, one of the Hamilton County parks on the west side of town. The snow at home has pretty much gone now, but here the Shaker Trace trail was still lined with snow, where it had been cleared from the trail. There is an inner loop, where we did see a few people, and an outer loop, where I think we just saw two people! We walked a total of 5.3 miles. I have put another shot in extras of shadows falling across the frozen lake.
In the evening was the Super Bowl, with the Kansas City Chiefs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Buccaneers going home with the trophy. We’re not great football fans, but we do usually watch this one game. Unfortunately, it’s a really big party night over here, so we’re just hoping it doesn’t have much of an adverse effect on the Covid numbers, which have been coming down quite well the last few weeks. We would perhaps watch a little more football if our local Cincinnati Bengals team were any good, but they haven’t been recently! We used to see a lot of high school and university games, back in the day, when both Philip and Laura used to play in Marching band.
