This stamp was issued in 1989 the year I entered University. My University's formal academic dress does not include a mortarboards, so while your photo is taken with one at graduation, you don't actually get to wear it. The ceremony takes place in academic not full academic dress, so no hats! For my higher degree you get to wear a giant floppy bonnet, so no mortarboard again...

Very odd day at work, I was supposed to provide holiday cover for a colleague, but the client hadn't set me up on their system yet, so I did something else instead.
