Be prepared!   This evening there was a power cut which fortunately didn’t last too long but the whole area went dark.  It didn’t seem too dark outside due to the snow covered landscape and the phone light enabled us to quickly find the large torch and candles then we could settle down to listening to the wind up radio.  It did make me realise that the mobile phones should be kept fully charged.   We are fortunate that we are not having prolonged power cuts as sometimes happens in areas affected by bad weather so leaving people with no heating or lighting and being very grateful to workmen battling through storms, floods and storms.
