They tried to make me go to rehab....
....so I said go, go, GO!
I had my first physio appointment today and boy am I feeling it now!
Mr A was off work so was able to come with me; he had a cheeky 10 minutes on the exercise bike (with permission) while my physio did his initial assessments with me.
I got great feedback from Nick, who said he doesn’t dish out compliments lightly; he can (and will) bollock slack behaviour.
In my case though, he said to keep doing whatever I’m doing at home for my leg as it’s doing really well. He said if it was his leg in this condition, he would be happy, so that made me feel so much better.
He agreed that some movement is restricted by the frame, but with a bit of manipulation, my ankle wasn’t as stiff as he thought it might be.
This can be a huge problem once the broken bones have healed, so it’s really encouraging to hear positive feedback at this stage.
My frame is due to be adjusted and once this is done, Nick is keen to get me going on the cross trainer. Luckily, we got one last time the gyms were locked down so I have one at home for when I’m able to use it.
As far as my shoulder is concerned, he agreed with the Consultant that it’s a classic case of frozen shoulder.
I’ve been given some exercises to do, with Mr A’s help; he has to pin me down so I don’t cheat and lift my shoulder.
Ordinarily, my physio sessions would be weekly, but given that I have to commute and that I’m doing a decent job at home, he’s agreed to see me in a months time.
Photo credit again goes to Mr A; he will be doing all my blips soon haha :-)
