The River
It was damp, grey and miserable out on my walk this morning. As you can see from this photo there is a lot of water about - this was taken looking up a slight incline - water streaming down both ‘ruts’ to gather in a dip.
Just behind where I was standing there was a farmer trying desperately to drain the water from his fields - he said the sugar beet crop was ready to harvest but the land is too wet to get the machinery on to process it. He fears he could lose it all - about £40,000 worth.
Further along the lane there were more flooded fields - see extra panorama shot.
Food delivery day - cauliflower and leeks included - for the first time in weeks. No substations substitutions or missing items either :-)
